SnF: Love, Louisa

Hello there dolls!!

I’m SO excited to announce that Snatched & Fabulous is BACK!! I had to take some time to get a few things together but I’m excited to feature some pretty amazing people that are out here impacting the lives of others and doing it in style!

So with that being said, let me introduce the fabulous Antoinique Halton!

Antoinique is a local fashion blogger and boutique owner. She is looking to take her store from online to on wheels and has started a KickStarter campaign to assist in making that a reality!

She describes her personal style as fun, flirty and chic. Her blog Laydee Posh definitely showcases her love of prints, dresses and a little leg! 😀

I was recently given the opportunity to ask Antoinique a couple of questions about her business, the campaign and how she impacts others lives!

Tell us a little bit more about Love, Louisa? What was your inspiration for starting your own boutique?

Love Louisa Boutique carries affordable designer clothing exclusively for plus size fashionistas sizes 12-24.

I launched Love, Louisa because I’ve always love fashion and wanted to be my own boss. Also I saw a new trend of plus size women supporting independent designers and I wanted to bring these unique designs to the Midwest.

What made you decide that you wanted to take your boutique from online to on wheels?

I’ve been doing a lot of research on Mobile Boutique’s and in the few years that they’ve been on the scene they have proven to be a quite successful business venture. Also as a plus size women myself I know that we are very particular about how our clothes fit. Knowing all of the previous I knew that having a store would increase my customer base and allow customers to view and try on merchandise first hand.

When did you first discover you were passionate about style and fashion?

I was probably around 9 or 10 years old when I realized that my love for styling Barbie dolls was a bit over obsessive and that’s when it hit me, I could make a career out of this. So I went to college for Fashion Merchandising and my dream is a bit different now than it was back then. Becoming a Barbie clothing designer didn’t happen but I’m so happy to be apart of the fashion world.

Having people to support you is crucial to one’s success.  Who would you say are your biggest supporters?

My Parents are definitely my biggest supporters. They’re my best friends; they have been my cheerleaders since day one. They’re also very honest with me, which I appreciate.

Who is your style icon?

I absolutely love Solange Knowles her style gives me so much life.

List three things you never leave home without?

My Phone, lipstick and Kate Spade wallet.

In what ways do you try to impact other people’s lives?

I’m a giver, whether it be advice, a helping hand or an ear to listen, it’s just who I am.

What advice do you have for others who are looking to start their own boutique?

Remember to breath. Planning to open a business can be overwhelming and time consuming but great things take time. Do your research to make sure you’re ready to present your brand to the world.

Antoinique describes her brand as “Fabulous” and I couldn’t agree more! I love seeing her determination and drive to make her dreams come true. She’s such a wonderful example for women that size doesn’t matter to be stylish! With 25 more days to reach her goal, you can help “Fund A Midwest Fashion Truck” and make a donation here! All donations will go towards revamping her truck and filling the shelves with trendy independent labels. Donating will also make you eligible for campaign rewards!
